About Jackman Maine
Sparkling pure water, tumbling stream, sweeping mountains, and the vast North woods-that's
what Samuel Holden found here in the Jackman-Moose River Region in 1819. And this
is what you will find here today when you visit this remote and rugged beautiful area.
Jackman, also known as the " Switzerland of Maine", is the center and the largest town in the Moose River valley. Here you will find everything you may need to complete your visit to the area. The region is surrounded by a working forest which are privately owned by companies, families, individuals, and investment groups but who also provide free access to visitors to ATV, camp, hike, bike, fish, hunt, snowmobile and to enjoy.
