Summer is the time for Family Vacations in Maine

SPRING

Spring - It is the beginning of some of the best fishing in the Northeast, moose watching along the roadways, ATV riding, White Water Rafting, Bird Watching, Swimming, Boating, and Maple Sugaring, all in the Jackman Region.

Some people may fondly call spring in Maine the "mud season" but it is truly the season of renewal: A time when nature comes alive with all the beauty of the Western Maine Mountains. What fun to watch the last of the ice flow down river, to admire the birds making their nests and preparing for their young, to hear the soft cry of the loons echo off the lakes, to see the trees beginning to bud and the acres of wildflowers beginning to bloom...and best of all, the days are getting longer too.

SUMMER

Summer time is all about Maine Family vacations and enjoying the outdoors. The children are out of school, the days are warm and you may wonder, what is there to do this summer? Don't sit at home in front of the TV.

Come on up to Jackman and enjoy the simple pleasures you may only experience in a small town surrounded by open forests, lakes and rivers. Your outdoor opportunities can be endless: swimming the streams or lakes, boating and fishing; learn to kayak or canoe our streams and rivers; ATV, hike or bike our many trails to see scenic vistas and wildlife; take a guided whitewater rafting tour along the Kennebec River; or spend the weekend under the stars camping.

After "mud season" and the ground dries up, the weather in Jackman stays cool in the evenings until mid June. July and August, the weather is simply gorgeous. Even when it is hot and humid south of us, the temperatures in this region seems much more pleasant.
